'I'm Spiritual, Dammit!'

August 13, 2008 - CBS 2 News at 11AM

First Jenniffer Weigel wrote Stay Tuned: Conversations with Dad from the Other Side, a poignant memoir to reconnect with her dad, the popular Chicago broadcast sports journalist Tim Weigel, who spent the last years of his career with CBS 2 before he died at age 56 in 2001.

Now Jen, a former member of the CBS 2 News team herself, has written a one-act play that explores life, death and spirituality. It's inspired by her book: I'm Spiritual, Dammit!, and is described as "climbing the mountain of enlightenment with a martini in one hand, and my pumps in the other."

Jen joined CBS 2's Bill Zwecker this morning to talk about her new play.

The play, "I'm Spiritual, Dammit!" runs Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3:30 p.m. from Aug. 14 through Sept. 14. But there is no show on Sunday, Aug. 31.
It's being put on by the Route 66 Theater Company, at the Viaduct Theatre, 3111 N. Western Ave. More information is at (773) 296-6024 or at the link below.
